Title: km184>248>AD1K???
Post by: Bubb Rubb on October 30, 2004, 11:51:46 PM
I am borrowing a 248 from a friend tomorrow for a while and was planning on my 184's into it.  Does anyone have experience with this, or ever heard a tape?  I have been told by many people that these two would not complement each other at all, in fact it would sound bad.  Just looking for a little input as to what people thought.  Kind of curious, thanks a million

I ran KM140>M248>SBM1 last weekend, and the results sound pretty damn good to my ears.

I'd been told to stay away from the Neumann/Oade combo as well, and while I don't think it sounds as nice as a V2 or V3 with the 140s...I certainly wouldn't say it sounded bad. The warmth of the 248 actually kinda made the Neumanns sound like Schoeps

;)

Agreed...but if you like the Schoeps sound, it was pretty darn close.

that's not a good thing.   :)
