Title: Soundforge 7.0 recording question
Post by: Kyle on November 05, 2004, 07:17:03 PM
Hey all,

When recording with SF7 via S/PDIF in, should I calibrate the DC offset? Also, which recording mode should be used? Multiple takes creating regions, multiple takes (no regions), etc. I am planning on doing simple DAT transfers; just want to make sure it is done right. Thanks for any help!!

I hear that your supposed to calibrate the dc offset, but you'll notice that it changes dramatically,
click the button a few times and you'll get way different #s each time.
I've played with it, recorded samples and analyzed waveforms and I can't see/hear a difference in any of them.
no Skalinder, I no longer have those files  :)

the mode dialog in the recording window; I'm assuming you're transferring a dat(or similar) or running live.
if you aren't tracking the project in SF there's not much difference except for the 'punch in'.
I leave it at default unless I dont think I will be present when I need to hit stop,
in which case I select 'punch in' and enter desired runtime.
