Title: mic outlet in the uk

Hi ,could someone point me in the direction of a site to buy a decent mic from in the uk,i havent got the time before the show to perhaps have to wait for shipping from the usa.,also i have just bought this minidisc

Sharp MD-MS701 Mini Disc Player  Recorder

also any help on a choice of mic for this recorder would be appreciated

have you tried looking on the internet or in a telephone book?

that's where i would look ;)

edit: as for a mic, not too many options without having a pre-amp.  you can try the sony ecm mics,  or a mic+battery box combo. many of those are thoroughly discussed on this site.

thanks i hadnt considered looking on the internet,and here was me thinking that someone on the tapers forum might have a  link to a decent  shop in the uk.

ah well i'll use the internet then ;)

no worries , ;D anyway after having looked around the net,i was still unsure as to what mic to use with this particular model,so i take your answer of a sony ecm mic doesn't need a batt box then?

yeah no batt box.....at least i'm 99% positve.  i have never seen any mention of a batt box in the info files from shows taped sony ecm>md. nor any mention of a batt box in the dicussions of a sony ecm mic here.
