Title: D100 help, please ??

MY BRAND NEW D100 ARRIVED TODAY !!  I was SO EXCITED, and then . . . . MAJOR PROBLEM.
Here I was . . . . wondering if I'd be able to figure out how to operate it and . . . .
I CAN'T EVEN GET THE DAMN DOOR TO OPEN.
I've confirmed that the "Hold" button is not on.  Using the "Open" slide button does nothing.
Is it me . . .  or do I have a faulty unit?

batteries in it, hold off, and hold the slider in teh back position for a second or so and you will start to hear it move the gears to open it

(Too bad they don't have a "blushing" smiley face I can use, 'cuz, boy, am I embarrassed!)
