My sony MZ-R37 just broke and I planned on recording the Social D concert early next week. I have low cost core sound mics with low sensitiviy. Any good mini disc recorders that would fit with these mics? I really want to avoid getting a battery box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
Doug

maybe step it up 50$ or so and get a decent used dat deck?

It really needs to be stealth. As small as possible.

The Sony portable DAT recorders are very stealthable. As is the JB3. Shoot, I've stealthed my V3 - though didn't have to go through a full pat-down. Keep your options open.

plus you will love not having that shitty ATRAC 3 compression on you're tapes. ;)

don't forget the need to change disks every 74 minutes is not too stealthy either

I've stealthed the UA-5 in the same situation many times.
I think people underestimate how stealthy the NJB3 is too- its so nice that it looks like a discman on first glance.
