Title: Jackopierce - taper friendly?
Post by: MattD on November 14, 2004, 10:31:34 PM
I'm pretty sure they used to be taper friendly, but is this still the case?

Yes they are, but like to be asked first. Where are you going to see them. I'm going to a show on Friday here in VA.

Ditto, if I remember to get tickets.

Then you may want to send out an email to them. The Birchmere can be pretty tough on taping. Better safe than sorry.

Yes, JP is taper friendly.  We taped them and their opener (Kyle Riabko) two weeks ago when they were in Cambridge, MA.  However, you should contact them, because:

1. They like to know in advance, though unless they're taping it for their own release I don't think that will be a concern; and
2. At least in our case, they want to get a "proof copy" before distribution, since they want to ensure that the shows floating around are of decent quality.[/li]

That aside, though, we had no problem with mic taping, and no problem getting a sound board feed either.  (Think, aud + sbd mix, whenever I get around to it.)

Have fun!  It should be a good show...
