Just picked up a pair of Supermounts for my TL's, and they came via post...totally apart! Wondering if anyone has or could get pics of their mounts put together, if only so I have a visual to help me put the bands on correctly....
-
they suck to put together man! If no one else posts any, I'll get you some pics when I get home from work.
-
Cool. I kind of figured it is gonna suck to put em together, but I'm already having a kind of blahhh day anyway, so this is just icing on the gravy. I also got a leegeddy power cable in the mail that, due to my own idiocy, terminates in a big XLR plug when I needed mini!
Grrr...

the supermounts are a PITA. i carried mine in that commercial in the side pockets... they fit PERFECT. but at least one of them comes apart at every show.
get loaded and then pop them fuckers out and have em come apart at crunch time. good to get the blood pressure up 8)

that happened to me a number of times.
One thing I do, which may or may not be dumb, is relieve the pressure on the rubber bands while not in use by just removing it from around one of the little pegs.... although it prolly saves the life of the band itself, it has screwed me like you said before.
-
i never did that, but somehow i always got one band off in the process of getting it out/ setting it up
pfife- got the mbho's today!!! look great, he threw in a pair of phat dpa screens for free!
-
awesome- good to hear. I might be joining a new team here myself..... :P

larry at adk told me that these are the old style, and sent me the new style.
i wish i had a digi cam to take a photo, but the new style Supermount is much lower profile (lower basket) and more robust in its manufacturing. the welds look very solid and the tension bands look like they will never slip off.
damn, my scanner is also packed up so no go on an image...

yeah the new supermounts seem much better than those!
but the bands wouldnt have came off on those old ones, they would just break
-
Yeah, I must have the "new style" cause the mounts don't have any of those hooks on the inner basket. Man, they LOOK like they'll be cool once I stick em together....
-
I've actually broken some of the pegs which the band stretches around on the newer kind.... nothing a bit of superglue couldn't fix though. Weld didn't seem too strong...
that's another reason why I take the bands off one of the pegs for storage.

Here's a pic of my old TLs in the supermounts:
