Title: What's wrong with this Sony D5? Very high noise...
Post by: hexyjones on November 21, 2004, 11:43:12 AM
I have Sony D5 that...well I bought new....used for about 6 years and dropped in on asphalt one night...

Subsequently I took the motor out and put in in another broken D5...which worked great...

The old one I want to be able to use the preamp...its been sitting awhile...

When I put batteries in the preamp is laden with FM like static...very loud...something is screwed up...

Any ideas...is there some voltage leaking around the board...?

I'm not so sure I didn't once screw up the DC-DC converter...I cant remember.

Sounds just like voltage sneaking around, or lack of such ;D
