Title: B&P Offer: Southern Culture on the Skids DVD
Post by: Elvis Hitler on November 23, 2004, 08:30:19 PM
Thought I'd share this with anyone who's interested, since it came out pretty nice.   It's a 4 camera mix of a SCOTS show from earlier this year in Louisville, KY.

I did all of the editing in Vegas 4.0, with a little help from Excalibur.  Running time is 100 minutes.

If you'd like a copy, send me a blank DVD-R (NOT DVD+R), plus a self addressed bubble mailer (at least 6" x 9") with enough return postage to mail the DVD back to you.   If you include $1.06 postage, I can send it in a DVD case with a quickie cover that I photocopied.

I'd also be interested in trading for other multi-cam mixes of decent bands, to get an idea of what the rest of you guys are producing.

Post your e-mail here if you'd like a copy, and I'll get back with you.

Here's some info on the show, as well as the set list:

Excalibur does some of the tasks automatically that you would normally have to do manually using Vegas.   The main thing I use Excalibur for is the 'Multicam Wizard' -- instead of dragging each clip up into the master track after making the edits, Excalibur does it all for you with one click.  Very helpful when you have over 1000 edits in a multicam project.   It's a great companion program for Vegas.

very cool of you to offer up your work like this, Elvis Hitler. +T

(i'm not requesting a B&P, just wanted to say thanks in general for the cool offer!)

EDIT: take a look in the Kickdown Central forum for my own B&P offer of a DVD that I recently put together. :)

normally you have to watch for beach balls, glow sticks and wooks but these guys and gal you have to watch out for the chicken.  Lee got hit w/ chicken one night and another night i had to overhand a wing to protect the mics.

can't wait till next year for another 5 night run.
