I would like to get an inexpensive mixer to start pulling some matrix in the future. What would be a good one. Behringer Eurorach UB1202 or MX802A. Have been looking at these on Ebay. Thanks for the help

I use a Mackie 1202 vlz pro which I got on ebay for about $150. So far it's been great. Behringer does have a model which runs off batteries though which could be useful.

mxb1002 runs off batts, but only provides 15V phantom when run off batteries. Not a big deal though, you should definitely run a good pre in front of it as the pre in the unit is noisy

I've been pretty happy with this small Yamaha mixer...needs AC though and adds a bit to your carry in...
Pretty flexible though...and if you happen to be a musician, you can use it those endeavors as well...

4 mic ins...48V phantom...extra two track ins...
You can even run two discrete sets of mics and make two seperate recordings...with the right cables...
I havent listend to enough preamps to compare this sonically to anything...
I paid $99.00

You might check out the Mixpad 4:
http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=66&brandID=2
It only provides 18V phantom unles you make the jump to the Mixpad 9 or 12 and you get 36V. You can usually find them for <$75 at ebay.
