i just go a sony DCR-HC30 for my birthday a few weeks back and wanted to know how to transfer the video recorded on the tape to my comp. for some reason it only recognizes the memory stick. Ive set the camera for USB streaming as well.
what software is good to use for trasnfering and then placing a seperate audio file over the video feed?
Also any other suggestions on ways to better my video recordings are highly appreciated
thanks
Kevin

Use the firewire port when transferring video.
Your camcorder probably came with video capture software. Other third party video editing software will also let you capture video via a firewire or USB connection.

could be you may need to purchase a firewire 6pin cord for your computer tower or a 4pin cord if it's going to a lappie.
