I can do it in pro tools, with multiple tracks it is really easy. I have sf7, I will screw around and if I figure anything out I'll let you know

I fooled around a bit.
I used Zimbabwe (BMW) and tried to remove the first verse. Did ok.
I opened the wav and magnified the section right before the first verse. On the beat just before the first word I began highlighting. Selected the whole wav from that point to the end. Deleted the selected part. So now I have a 10 sec piece up to the first verse.
opened the wav again, magnified right before the second verse, highlighted from that point to the beginning (opposite of above) and deleted. The I copied the second wav and pasted to the first wav. When I right clicked to paste, there was a crossfade option. I selected it, previewed it, and it was ok. not perfect, but I didn't try too hard.
Its getting late so I guess I have something to work on tomorrow.
any suggestions? discuss.

Using the SF crossfade actually pretty easy. Open the two tracks you want to crossfade on Soundforge. The first track move the bottom bar to the end of the track. On the second track, left double click on it and highlight it. Then drag it with your left clicker and and drag it to the end of the first track. Right ckick at the same time untill the "c" in the little box come on and the merge it as far as you want into the track. From right to left. You usually only have to merge it a little bit to work great. Good luck. Mike

fades are SUPER easy in protools...never tried it in SF, though

I tried this but had to drag the second track from the explorer window, but otherwise worked as you said. Kind of hit or miss though, protools so easy!
