Title: md5 summer
Post by: neumannkid on December 10, 2004, 11:21:02 AM
Recently Ive started using this program to create md5's for shows Ive been renaming for upload to the archive.

Well when the md5 is created for the renamed files it checks out fine when using md5summer to check it. When I run it through MKW to verify a warning pops up claiming that there are files missing and it says summer. Does md5summer generate a extra file when it creates the checksum? There arent any tracks missing, so this is what Im left to assume. Has anyone else had this probelm?

open up the md5 file created by md5summer in a text editor and you'll see that the first line of the file contains extra, unnecessary text (something to the effect of "created by md5summer") -

This is what's throwing off mkw -- if you merely remove the extra text with a text editor after using md5summer to generate the checksums, all will work great.

you can also right click on the folder and select create md5

make sure only want you want fingerprinted is in the folder - no text files or anything
