I've been using an el cheapo Wal Mart cable to run V3>JB3, but would like something a little more reliable.
Any recommendations on a good, beefy, (and preferably) right angle cable?
+T for any help...

Yup, I use this cable exclusively. I believe you can sometimes 'em on EBay for ~$10.

I got one of the ebay right angles and it seems like a real nice cable, never had a problem with it and paid less than $10 for it. Looks just like the one at Sound Professionals.

Hey all,
I checked the ebay sellers mentioned earlier, but they don't seem to have any right angle cables at this time.
And a general search on ebay for toslink + angle doesn't give me any hits.
Maybe I'm not using the right keywords, or they're simply in short supply?!
If nothing else comes up, I'll go for the Sound Pro version (SP-TMOC-RA), but is is listed as "temporarily out of stock" too.
Did anyone have recent success in ordering any right angle cables?!
Thanks!

BTW, the cheapest shipping option that Sound Pro provides would set me back another $32! Pretty steep for a cable that is listed at $25 itself.
I wish there were good online retailers in Europe too :(
Maybe this is a topic for Team Europe to dwell on...

In europe there is a brand called Hama and they have a beefy optical cable with the width of canare star quad, right angle ends and metal ends to keep the optical tip in place, this thing is a rock. If you can find one online I highly recommend it.

I use the Kimber Opt1, made by Kimber Kables. Thicker cable than the SP model and has never failed me once.

I have had bad experiences with hama stuff. They are german, and bought two of their cat 5 cables, and the fuckers came apart. Also bought a firewire card of theirs, and it wouldnt work with my pc. i may look at the optical cable of theris though. There is ahama dealer near me.

Thanks for the lead!
Hama seems to have a huge catalogue... I couldn't find anything like the TMOC-RA, but at least they have a cable with right angle on one side:

I'll look around some more, maybe I'll take up BigRay's generous offer if nothng else shows up. I owe you one!

I'll chime in on my bad experiences with the Sound Pro's optical cables. First I ordered a RA toslink > RA toslink. DID NOT work with a Radio Shack toslink>mini adapter while connecting my UA-5 to my jb3. So I called Sound Pro's and swapped it for the RA toslink > RA mini. That also DOES NOT work with the UA-5 / jb3 combo; all kinds of static and dropouts.
FWIW the 3 ft. toslink > toslink Radio Shack optical cable with Radio Shack toslink>mini adapter has worked PERFECTLY countless times.
But due to the many others that have had good experiences with Sound Pro optical cables, I believe it has something to do with my own gear.
So if anyone knows of another RA toslink > RA mini optical, lmk because I'd like to try it out...

The Sound Pros Toslink to mini has been flawless for me going UA-5 > JB3. Doing the tos > tos cable with a mini adapter is where I ran into static/ drop out issues. Interesting that you found the exact opposite. I guess that's why we each stick with what works best for us as individuals.
