I am interested in getting into taping.  I was thinking of going the laptop route.  Could I get some suggestions for a decent set up?

Laptop specs(just basic stuff)

Software

Hardware

Mics

Power supplies
etc

don't forget you probably want a pre-amp in there too!

Well, that would depend....looking at spending around 1500 or so on the laptop and then I have know idea on the other stuff.....

IT's kinda hard to tell you then, cause prices can range anywhere from $100 for mics -> $4000 for mics.

I'm not a laptop taper, but it is my suspicion that you could get one that would do the job for about half that.
