Hi Guys.I just purchased a JB3 from e-bay.I'm going to be taping(or trying to) a couple of shows at the end of the month.I know I need mics.Is there anything else? This will be an audience recording.I only have about $200 or so to spend.I know it's not much but if I spend any more I'll probably be sleeping on the couch. :o
Can you guys give me any suggestions?(other than get a divorce) ;)
Thanks

I've read that several times.I understand that the Nomad takes care gain,ADC & storage. The mic part is what's got me confused.I need to either get a condenser mic & battery pack or condenser mics that are powered by let's say a single A battery.Right? I'll only need 1 mic because it's a stereo mic, correct. With a very limited budget I'm not sure what to do.I saw someone post about a Sony Cardiod ECM-MS908c but it's a camcorder mic.Do I need a Radio Shack adapter to make it fit the JB 3? I apologize for my thickheadiness but I am truly a newbie. :'(

Personally, I would snag a digi-mod UA-5 from ebay and patch from other tapers or the soundboard. Then, in the meantime, I would study and read up on differnet mics. Save your money for a decent pair of mics. You can have a decent beginner set-up for another $300-400 (Superlux/Octava mics > digi-mod UA-5). Other folks may be able to suggest other A>D converts, as I am only familiar with the UA-5.

is this open or stealth taping?

is this open or stealth taping?
Shoot. I meant to ask that. If it is open, my post has some relevance.

Well,I talked to management and they said it's okay to tape but I won't be able to patch into to the soundboard because they're recording something for a future project. We're gonna be up front by the stage and they said I couldn't put it on the stage either(which I figured)
I didn't want to spend a lot because 1)We're flying from Syracuse to Wisconsin for the 2 shows..30th & 31st 2)hotels & essentials and 3)I just don't go to concerts much at all anymore.I'm not looking for studio quality but I don't want something that I can't listen to either.I'm tempted just to go buy an inexpensive(cheap?)mic and take my chances with the sound quality. Thanks again.

or you could rent some gear. I believe sonic sense rents it out.
