Title: SP C4 shockmounts...
Post by: Tall Adam on December 15, 2004, 02:38:19 PM
i posted this in team Sp but go nothin, so here goes over here.

just got my C4s yesterday. i want to take the 5/8 > 3/8 adapters out of the shockmounts but they seem to be screwed in tighter than anything ive ever seen. anyone experience this? any tips on getting them out? ive already tried every size coin, a dinner knife (which i nearly broke), and some other random objects. I dont have a screw driver thats wide enough. Anyone? do i just need to buy adaptors to make my 5/8 threads euro? that seems little silly to go 5/8 >3/8 > 5/8. anyway...any help greatly appreaciated

first of all, righty tighty lefty loosey :D

Second, see if you cant superglue something inside that thread of equal size (bolt or whatever) then use force on that to get it out.  trying to get some lube in there too might not hurt.

I used a screwdriver into the little indentations and gave it a nice twist

didnt have a screwdriver laying around that was wide enough so i soaked it in wd-40 inside a film can for a few hours and it came out :)

fancy that, well its nice they threw in the adaptors they have proved to be worthy extras in times of need for other tapers at shows when they realize they have lost theirs.
