I will be stealthing a few shows this summer, and I'm trying to find a good placement for my mics. I've seen lots of source files where in says "in hat" how do you actually place mics in the hat without muffling the sound or anything. I've tried to experiment with just a baseball cap, but it seems very hard to place the mic in that.
Is this a good hat to use, the one on the left

Kangol ventair tropicap

where is that on the site?
All i see is Kangol Ventair Space Cap

It's this Payne Stewart-lookin' thing. I'd just take my baseball cap and like tape the 853s to the corners of the bill where it meets the cap in (almost) NOS. SHouldn't be too hard.

like samuel l jackson wears...either mount the mics in the bill or binauraly over the ears.

i just clipped lavaleirs to the bill of my hat, works for me, if you had 2 clips, otherwise duck tape man, "if you can't duck it, fuck it."
