Title: argh, fuckin nero/burnatonce :P
Post by: F.O.Bean on December 16, 2004, 05:33:44 PM
ok, so i reformat my comp about a week ago, everything is running perfectly so far, except i forgot to save an old copy of my nero 6.3.1.6, so its gone

once i reformated, i installed the newest version 6.6.0.3 i believe

well, i go to copy either a data or audio disc and NEITHEr nero nor burnatonce will burn exact copies, they keep getting stuck at about 7-9% of the burn and wont shutdown, i then have to hit the main power on my comp for it to shutdown, NOT GOOD

i know its not windows for sure, but damn, neither program willburn exact copies, i have to copy flacs to my HD and then burn from there w/ nero or burnatonce, well, this isnt sufficient so......

any help is greatly appreciated :)

thanks,
  bean

mine does this also...but only with Fuji disc(never had a problem with old fujis) or "cheap" disc...maybe try a different disc see if that helps any??  other solutions are MORE than welcome by me also!

i was under the impression that burning "on the fly", which is what it sounds like you are doing, is not really a great idea even w/  a supercomputer. i prefer burning from the hd. it may take a little longer but it is def "safer". ymmv. if you cant get it worked out ill send you my copy of nero6.

thanks guys, its just weird, because ive burned thousands of discs w/ previous versions of nero, but thisd last one, hell no :'(

theres also a check button on the lastest one, on the coy disc page that says "verify data after burn is completed" or something like that, either way its checked, satill nothing tho :P

tried a diff disc and same thing, FUCK, i have trades tro do, ive already wasted about 8 discs on bad burns from them both today, even on burnatonce :P

+T to you both

dre was correct, i switched the burnatonce to make an image on the disc on the HD first and it worked like a charm

i may try nero but i dunno, once i have more discs burned i will

just weird, cause ive ALWAYS had that box checked to make a 'quick copy' and its werked like a dream

it should be ok to burn data on the fly.  all versions of nero I've used (5 and 6) had the verify button.  I don't check it b/c if its a shn you should run the md5 and if it's a flac you should test it and make a fingerprint.  bean I have nero 5 and 6 (one of the early ones) I can send you if you want.
