Title: knobs?
Post by: Ed. on December 22, 2004, 02:04:36 PM
ok, i know some of you guys are really hardcore about your playback, and i respect that fully.  in fact, one day i hope to beef mine up, and look forward to doing so.

but isn't this kind of overkill...i get what they're saying...but its a wooden knob, couldn't i just make my own for $480 cheaper?

I tried those but they sounded bright on my system.  The ones I use now are finished with a highly damped varnish.  The cost is a little more, but well worth it.  Absolutely transparent after a 50hrs of break in.

is that 50 hours of playing music with them on your stereo...or 50 hours of turning the volume up and down? ;D

Thats 50 hours of rubbing the knob and making moaning noises.  I just realized that I didn't indicate sarcasm in my previous post.  Hopefully no one is off ordering one now. ;-)
