if ya got the dough, go for it.  you know a surrond sound would be 'fun', but not that practical to listen to in the car (although maybe now that dvd players are in cars...nah)

would it be obnoxious for me to set one of these up at a show
also what software would i need on my laptop to input the signal 5.1 24 bit

it looks like a jekklin (sp?) disc to me!

look at the specs, more of a jecklin sphere! it has 2 omnis in it. outputs 5.1. yes it would be obtrusive and expensive but think of the sick tapes youd make...mmmm...
