I can't see shelling out 50 bucks for a mount right now....so I'm thinking about either tensimounts or the superlux shocks....both are cheap enough and I've read positive things about each....so which would you reccomend?
I'm also looking for a good T-bar any reccomendations...I plan on mainly running ORTF and XY
-
I use and love my superlux mounts. I would reccomend either the AKG KM235 or the Shure A53 bars. The shure bar is pricy though.
-
I just got the superlux mounts. I have'nt got to use them in the field yet but they look like they'll be perfect. I picked them up for $23 with extar set of bands. Super fast shipping!!! They got from Colorado to Nh in 3 days via USPS priority mail.

I used Superlux mounts for well over a year. Never had a problem, though Ive heard of many peoples breaking. I took mine all over the place. probably 50 shows in Pittsburgh, NYC, Bonnaroo, ect... and never had any problems. I think they are significantly smaller than the tensimounts also.

You can get the KM235 T bar at www.atomicmary.com for $20.00 shipped. Best price on the 'net. Very good people. Quick ship. I recommended them to everyone here and no one has had problems.
I have a pair of the Tensimounts. The bands on them are very filmsy. I was going to dump them, but they worked great for my mini mics. I do recommend a pair of Audio Technica AT8415 universal shocks. A lot of guys have them. But they are a bit pricey. So .....

i just gave away a pair of tensi's a few weeks ago...too bad you missed 'em! ;) i have a pair of studio projects c4 mounts that i dont really need anymore...but they're not perfect, i was gonna hold onto them as backups but i could give them away as freebies if someone really wanted them. what mics are you running?
-
I ordered my Tbar from Atomicmary thanks for the suggestion!
I will be running ADK SC-T's (that is if Teajay ever gets my first payment that I sent out like 2 week ago)
I think I'm going to order the Superlux ones because I can get 3 of em plus 2 sets of extra bands shipped for about 12 bucksless than one of the 8415's
-
where did ya'll find the best price for superlux shocks?
very close to broke but I traded jbk my adk tls with the shcokmounts for some MG300 with only mic clips and now need some cheap shockmounts
-
superlux.us It comes out to be like 6 bucks each with shipping...
-
6 bucks/mount?
gotta check that out!
+Ts ;D
-
would the akg 391's or 460/480's fit in these mounts??
i am guessing the hm-32 is what you are talking about? thanx
great find for cheap shocks!!
+t
-
Ya, I have 391s in Superluxes, they arn too snug, but they still fit okay. Ive borrowed Jef's 480s and they are a little bigger, I think that they would break the bands too often...
-
thanx alex i will order these tonight...unless i happen to win the 460's ebay auction...PLEASE LET ME WIN THAT!!!
-
superlux mounts are very nice in my opinion - nice and low profile. don't see myself using any other mount until i absolutely need to.
-
there is a pair of tensimounts in the loner program. PM me to Try them out.
-
i ordered mine....any idea on how long they take to be shipped? 10$..should be shipped quickly..jeez!

I think he ships them the day he receives the order based on how fast I got mine!!
-
ya, I got mine like 2-3 days after I ordered them, REALLY fast!

I got a pair of lux mounts second hand and the threads were practically worn out so it didn't take long for them to bite the dust... I ordered a new pair just now and they're fine. I really nice set of mounts and I will be using them until they need replacing... since they're so cheap, it can be easily done that way without losing your wallet...
