I am wanting to run some relatively cheap speakers to my back porch area, any recs? I have seen the wireless ones that require AC, hello? is that wireless? Thanks for any ideas
Part's Express carries a lot of outdoor speakers... I know one of them is wireless too for about $90 per speaker.
Others are cool too that look like rocks, etc..

name caller!!!! :P
;D so what are you going to get? I've had my eye on the rock type speakers and always wondered how they sound.
Wireless would be cool for up in the trees (if you have them??)

I dont know yet, lots of options, this will probably a relative cheap purchase as quality is not so much an issue. Wireless sounds great but they eiher require a/c or like 8 c size batteries, screw that
A lot of those I linked would be an "underground wiring" sorta deal... Just get the appropriate outdoor/underground speaker wire.
The non-rock looking ones that sorta have a "trash can" look to them I have heard before and they sound surprisingly good. Not great, but not terrible. They'd work well hidden behind bushes or mixed in with the landscaping somehow like that...
They had a nice "omni" like dispersion of sound for lack of a better term, really threw the music out there despite their less then ideal location in the garden bed :)
I have a set of relativley cheap RCA speakers from Rat shack and they sound decent, they will be on the deck when I get a home of my own, right now they are work room speakers
Twood...I've got a pair of Advent wireless a friend gave me that he never used....brand new....I'll sell em to you dirt cheap if you want.

Trey,
KEF makes an outdoor speaker that really sounds great. We sell and install these all the time. You should check them out, I recommend them.

yeah I ended up going with these, most practical ones out there
I got some crap Audiosource or something like that off of amazon for $50. They work fine while tossing bean bags and working in the garden. Problem I had is I would always leave them on by accident so one night the people in back listened to some thiller movie my wife and I watched. Another time they got to hear the Grammy's at full volume. I'm sure those commercials sounded great!
thanks scott, just picked up a pair on ebay for $30 delivered
They made it through 2 MI winters and still work! Hell even if they didn't I was only out $50!
