Title: So You'd Like to...record concerts
Post by: gewwang on January 20, 2005, 02:52:42 PM
Found this browsing Amazon just now. Pretty funny seeing someone talk about sneaking gear into shows on Amazon.

At least he tells them not to charge for shows, but yeah, I have a hard time believing you could make a listenable tape with one of those mics, a md, no battery box, and the mics strapped to your chest...

actually the ecm907 > md doesn't do too bad for shows that aren't that loud.  i taped a beck acoustic show with that setup and it sounds pretty nice.  however, compared to what i have now, those tapes suck.

mine too.  it was good in two settings outside close to the stage, and quiet acoustic shows.

I agree with ed.  907>MD was ma first rig and I was stoked on those tapes....... Untill I started patching.  After patching through some nice rigs and checking out the tapes I can say I wasn't as stoked on my 907 tapes.

I still use that set-up to record my baby son.  It works good enough and I won't nearly as pissed if he drools on that one!

Hey guys, have a heart.  For under a few hundred bucks, that's about the best type of rig that you can get.  You have to start somewhere!

"If this happens when you're bringing stuff in, apologize, and mention there wasn't any huge problem last time when O.A.R. or Phish played (both bands have a free taping policy)."
hehe, that's funny stuff

+T for the drool proof mic setup.
