Title: Mic or line-in?

I have AT831 mics and a good small preamp. What is better (in case i would buy a Marants pdm660):

1. Use line-in
2. get new cables to connect the batterybox or/and the mics to Mic-In (XLR-format)

I don´t know anything about the Marantz unit but I would use line in.
