Title: Benchmark DAC-1 Price Fixed ?

Seems to be the list price and no discounting allowed.

Post by: carlbeck on January 23, 2005, 05:17:47 PM: That blows if they did price fix, try to find one used. $975.00 is pretty steep but after owning mine for over a year, I can say it is definitely worth the money. It will also double as a pre-amp, that's how I use mine, it has a great vollume control & sounds awesome.

I have no idea about the legality but their arrangement doesn't look any different than what Schoeps does. If you're really interested in getting to the bottom of it contact your favorite Benchmark dealer and find out what the deal is, but I'm 99% sure someone with Sonic Sense posted here about Benchmark prices going up and that they were creating a minimum price.
