I recently bought a pair of binaural mics, and ive ordered a battery box too.I was under the impression that when using a bb and plugging the mic into the line in input that i would still have to set the mic sensetivity on my md.Below is what another person has said,im a bit confused and could really do with a posotive yes or no.
I did some research on mic sensitivity, and according to Dex Otaku, when using Line In, mic sensitivity does not come into play.
Is this true,as im hopefully going to be doing some recording over the weekend.
thanks pepper

Welcome to the board!
I might suggest NOT YELLING IN YOUR SUBJECT LINE. ;)
With that out of the way...
The more specific you are with your question, the more help you'll get around here. What exactly is all of your equipment? Brand/model of mics? What brand/model of deck are you using?

Some of the newer MDs have sensitivity and/or level settings for using mic in. You can change these settings and it won't affect the line in recording quality. A battery box will get the signal from the mics up to line level.

So basically i dont have to worry about setting the mic sensetivity when recording with a bb through line in??.So if the mics sens was set to high and i was recording up close at a loud rock show it should be ok??.Im sorry if it seems like im repeating myself but as you know sometimes you only get one chance at recording a band and i want it to be as good as possible.

yes, as long as the MD is set to line-in.
