What do you use to keep all the gear seperate in the main compartment? I have a ua5 on the way, & was wondering how to keep it from getting beat up. Do you put a towel in with everything?
I don't. I have my mic bodies in a sock, and other than that the V3, SLA, and JB3 float freely - though it's a tight fit so they don't bounce around a whole lot. I have some cosmetic marks on the V3 and JB3 as a result, but I don't particularly care.
Though I have considered building a cage to house my V3 to protect the XLR inputs - right now, the weight of the V3 rests on the right-angle XLR inputs and I'm mildly concerned about the stress eventually causing a problem.

with the targus rakgear no real need to tie down the ua-5. it sits on a shelf and doesnt slide around all that much. here are some pixs from the rigs section. the bag only cost $10 also!

bottom section holds cables, shocks, mics, tools, etc, plenth of frontal pockets also. best think is, it is very ergonomic and doesnt kill my back, even with sla's.

I am using a lowepro magnum.
I am happy with it.
I can fit everything in it I need and maybe some extras.
It came with some many velcro dividers I did not even know what to do with them all.
I only used about 1/4th of them.
I split the main compartment up, Mics on one side. V3 and duct tape on the
other.
Batteries on one side and shockmounts on the other side all in the main compartment,
Someday I will get some pics, maybe this is a good reason to..
Plenty of information on bags using the search feature as well as good pics in the rig
section.

You know, me bein the dumbass that I am , it never dawned on me that I could use my lowepro bag for recording as well....I currently am using it for my camera, but it looks real nice for other things as well.
Ray +T thanks man.!
