Title: at853rx won't fit
Post by: bagtagsell on January 27, 2005, 08:01:06 PM
my at853 rx won't fit in my MP2.  The way they designed the xlr connectors there is a recesed edge, that plugs into your mic jack, but at 1/4 inch gets wider.  It makes it so that it won't connect to my mp2 securely.  Does anyone got any mods to fix this?

hmmmm... i've used at8533 with the mp2 before. i could swear that the sizes of at8533 and at8533x were the same on the xlr output end.

I had this same problem...wouldnt "lock in"...so what I ended up doing was taking the 3 screws that hold the housing out...took a small metal file to each of the screw holes and filed them towards the front of it..basically making them longer so to speak...once I did that, I reattached the screws and with the longer holes, it allowed me to reattach them with less of the outer housing towards the end that plugs into the MP2...got them screwed in and now they lock securely....

hope that makes some sense...
