Title: question about adjusting levels with a ua-5 > jb3 setup with svu-2 meter
Post by: housermix on January 28, 2005, 04:20:25 PM
ok, question for you guys

I am running  a ua-5 > jb3 and I just picked up a svu-2 to handle my levels? , but question is this... With the svu-2 monitoring the levels coming out of the jb3, where are you initially setting the levels on the jb3? all the way up? and what about the ua-5, , I guess I am just a little confused as far as where the adjustments are coming from for increasing or decreasing the levels?

hope that makes sense

thanks in advance

kevin

When running that setup your adjustment needs to come from the mic input knobs.  On the front far left.

If you are going UA5 > JB3 via an analog connection...just leave the jb3 at 0db and get the levels right on the UA5...then if you need a bit more, raise it on the JB3.

(there might be other opinons about this...some might say leave the JB3 at 0 and fix it in post prod...)

If you are using a digital signal to feed the JB3 - all the level setting is happening on the UA5...
