Title: CoolEdit Pro 2.0 question
Post by: Brian_CT on January 30, 2005, 08:45:44 PM
Hi guys,

I want to capture a streaming radio show in an hour or so (Ben Folds on Air America) but I can't remember how to configure CE Pro 2.0 to do so. I did it once a year ago, but have forgotten how.

I can see that CE knows a stream is playing (the levels move at the bottom of the window), but no waveform shows in the recording window when I hit record.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

-Brian

I've never done it with Cool Edit before; I've always used Total Recorder.  Looked through the Help and Device Properties sections, but I don't see a way to set it to do this.  Maybe try varying your Wave In to the different possibilities and see if you can get a recording?

Go to Options
then Windows Recording Mixer.
Check the box in the wav portion of the mixer.
Hit record.

That will record all sounds that get output to your speakers.

Thanks guys. I figured it out in time. My new computer had an extra "mixer"program in addition to the windows one. I kept playing around with it until it worked.
