hey all...
one of my m1's is showing the LP icon in the display when I playback after recording.
I double checked the switch on the back and it's set to 44.1 not 32...so I know I didnt record in LP (I THINK I know...is it possible the switch/device is broken?)
any idea what's up with this? I converted a bit off one of the tapes, and forge shows it as being 44.1 so i'm rather confused.
-
Does it seem like the set used a "normal" amount of tape...?
While the tape is playing - if you hold down the "play" button for a second or two - it will display the sample rate...(this works on the D7/8 - not sure about M1)
-
were you feeding it a digital stream? It should record at whatever it's fed and disregard the local switch setting if you are using an external ADC.
I had this happen to me when I moved my rig during a show. I bumped the SBM1 and put it to LP so that's what I got regardless of the deck being set to 48k.
-
it was recieving XLR>mini>line in. no sbm or a/d converter in between the sbd and the m1
-
what sample rate does it show if you hold down the play button while playing back one of the "problem" tapes?
-
and of course, now that people are respondign and trying to be helpful, it wont show LP anymore :-(
all the tapes in question show sample rate of 44.1
AND, i should mention the icon doesnt STAY lit. when it appears, its for a second or two, then its gone.
-
ok, made another tape, and it happened again...HOWEVER, i noticed something...
the LP icon only comes up right after the tape is done "loading" it stays for a second, then disappears. checking by pushing the play button, i confirm 44.1
THEN
once i take the tape out of the deck, and reinsert it (reload) the LP icon doesnt show up.
so as long as the tape hasnt been pulled from the deck after recording, it shows the LP icon upon loading.
after removal, and reload - no icon.
any help?
