Hi guys!
I´m really new to this taping thing and i been reading alot here for a week now and this is getting harder and harder
my question is what gear to get?
I was thinking of a JB3 but i have no idea of what mic´s and batt box to get so i hope you guys can help me out in making a good decision?
My budget $2-400 on mic´s and batt box.
There will be alot of good concerts in Sweden this summer!
Thanks!
Jonas

If you want to go the mic > battery box route, SoundPros is a good way to go. I picked up some SP-CMC-2 mics and a SP-SPSB-1 battery box w/ roll off & level adjust a couple months ago. So far it's worked out pretty nicely. A lot of people like the SP-CMC-4's or the SP-CMC-8's also.

I went through this a couple months ago. Do some reading around the board. It's a great resource.

Thaks dhora!
Should i use UNIDIRECTIONAL or OMNIDIRECTIONAL mic´s?
What is the advantage and disadvantage?

well, since nobody else has fielded this, here's my limited knowledge from reading the board for awhile.
Cardoid mics pick up sound in a mushroom cap shape (pardon the bad ascii art)

( \
mic ) probably more like this =D

Omni mics pick up in more of a circle and are thus a bit more forgiving if you move when you are stealthing, but they will also pick up more things behind you than the cards...
Anyone else can feel free to chip in here.
I picked up some cards because I heard better things from various people about cards than omnis.
Another Idea is listen to some mic samples and see what mics you like to hear. You're the one that will listen to the tapes, so find some mics that sound good to you.
