Gordon's WAV hacking tool is excellent and the price is hard to beat. ;D

It is worth a mention that Wavelab 5.0 will allow an import of files > 2GB where they can be split and saved to a useable size.
Also, Adobe Audition 1.5 and it's earlier incarnation, Cool Edit Pro, will open WAV files of greater than 2GB.

the link by tim in jersey does not work. i assume no one has said anything to anyone about this. and i assume that he would want to know. i wanted this proggie. please repost if possible. or send link to me at darthcdrz at aol dot com. thanks
