Title: JB3 Firmware : Will WinXP let mutliple versions exist...?
Post by: hexyjones on March 04, 2005, 09:46:55 PM
The 2 JB3s that I use regularly have the 1.3 version of the firmware and are interchangeable...

Im trying to get another JB3 working...it has 1.4 version of the firmware...Windows sees it as new hardware.

Question : Is there anyone out there with two nomads with different firmware? Does the Creative Play Center recogonize both interchangeably?

I don't know about playcenter, but Notmad can tell them apart.

Prob has something to do with the drive volume label.

Thanks - thats what I was hoping to hear...

I'm going to check my driver version - perhaps I need the newer one to get my system to recognize both players.

Checkout www.nomadness.net in the download section for the latest drivers.

I upgraded both of my JB3s to 1.4 with no issues.  XP and Creative software recognizes both of them flawlessly .  I recommend having both of your JB3s to 1.4 firmware, just to be safe.  That's just my 2 cents.
