Now that these things are actually out in the field, what's the wait time on getting one now? Exact price (I've seen a few different listed)?
Thinking about pulling a Nick Gregory ;) - selling most all of my shit to buy one!

:)
I got on cascades waiting list and have been told anywhere between the end of this month into next month...but they appear to be coming off the line on a regular basis....
I have also heard of at least one person that found a non-taping retailer who turned one in a week
-
we just got 6 more today

Do you guys think that the Multitrack 722's will go quickly as a practical multitrack portable rig?
For some reason, I just don't see those selling too much past the taper community.
-
you mean the 744's?
I think they will sell much better to non-tapers than tapers. the 722's will sell better to non-tapers than tapers too
we're not that big of a concern to manufacturers

our list has more non-tapers than tapers

I would think so, 8568 members!?! I know there are not THAT many tapers out there! Even a thousand seems like a lot, much less >8K.

I thought he was referring to Sonic Sense's list of buyers... perhaps not

gotcha, that would make sense. Didn't know he was SS staff...
-
what's the street price on these bitches? :)
-
$2650 or so
really not that bad if you use it as an all in one....
-
they're less than that...
but consider that you need to buy a firewire cable and battery.
I still can't believe I had to buy a friggin firewire cable to go with this box... you'd think they could have tossed one in

That's not so bad when you consider that I only got an AES digital out and AES digital input cables with my Deva. Had to buy an analog output cable ($105 for that cable from Remote Audio), NP1 battery (actually has a place to use XLR power inputs, so I can use SLA batteries, but it's easier and lighter to use NP1 batteries), and FireWire cable. And when you consider that I paid 4x the amount for the Deva that you did for the 722. It's pretty sad...

Boswell is right...the street price is less...though not much less...your favorite retailer can help you get a price :P
but considering I sold a bunch of stuff and have enough for this box, and the JK labs setup, I am in pretty good shape
