tickets and ride just confurmed for leo kottke tomorow night. first time for a real band(?), if they let me set-up that is. setting up now to make a dry run and then recharge batts.it's such a gas that i'm realy going to make it to this show that i'm sure i'll forget something. anyone care to help w/ an idiot check?

just go through it all in your head from start to finish; stand>tbar>mic clips>mic>mic cable>pre>(cables between)>A/D>recorder, then make sure you have power for everything that needs it. duct tape and a flashlight...your set ;D

the one thing i always forget to pick up is a flashlight. been saying that for like a yr or so now. this is also the first outing w/ the ua-5. i'm used to running 3 mics w/ the mx-100. this just seems too simple a set up. 2 mic cables and 7-pin. no pp and all the other asorted cables. it's like i'm missing an arm or leg ;D fixin' to do a sound check now.
i don't know the venue, wondering if it would be ok to run the naks w/ out screens, only have one right now. or should i stick to the nt5s?

no worries there, my ride has 'em. if she forgets them then she don't get payed for 'em ;)

that was weird, walked right in, no problems. start setting up and a guy gets on stage and says "no flash photography or video taping allowed, ok cool looks like i'm good to go. lights go down sitting there waiting for leo to come onso i can do a quick level adjustment when a guy comes up and says no taping and makes me break down, about 30 seconds before leo comes out. :'( atleast i didn't have to take it all back to the car and miss the first part of an excelent show. ;D
so what did i forget? get permission first!

hehe, that is what I do before every show, go through my rig from top to bottom...and never forget the duct tape

i never intended to steath, but, i did think about just pretending to shut down and all. glad i didn't try, the man was hangin' behind me and i was last row. might have to look into a stealth setup for something like this again, even if it goes against my feelings. leo was more story teller that night than any of the other tapes i've heard from him. close to 2 hr show. there should've been a record of it.

If you're running a JB3, have a paper clip handy somewhere.
