Title: How about these for a 9.6v source (1.5Ah)

These Makita cordless power tool batterys are a nice option for powering your gear at the festival about the size of a microwave burrito but packing 1.5Ah easy to solder to just did one tonight. here is a link to one an ebay:

ime, nickel-cadium batts suck!
for less than $40, you can get 5.4AH 9v lithiums.

i agree marc, mickel metahydrides are much better, and not nearly as severe as a memory effect
