Title: UA-5 Power Cable
Post by: Rick on June 26, 2003, 11:21:21 AM
I'm looking for a skilled craftsman to make me a reliable UA-5 power cable. I made one, but it sucks! :banging head: It looks like its going to fall apart at any moment. I've got one 9.6v 3000 NiMH battery so I don't need the cable that uses 2 batteries.

Of course I'll pay for all parts, shipping and your time. All I want is a cable I can rely on.  ;)

Can anyone help me out?

Am I making them the right length?  Anything else that would make it better?  Would you mind having him email me?  blu666z@hotmail.com

Kevin - Mine's just the right length... fits quite nicely in my Rak with the UA5 on the top shelf & battery on bottom.

If I could make any suggestion maybe it would be to use a coiled springy power cable... I twist tied off the extra length in the cable, personally.
Don't know how feasable that is, though.

I might look at that for the next one.  The reason I haven't is I am not sure how to tell the wires apart.  Ritgh now I know that the striped cable goes to red.  Not sure how to tell them apart on the coiled one.
