Hey everyone,
Thanks for posting if you do end up helping me out.
Well, I have a band and I aslo attend alot of concerts. I want to do both, mainly, when im with my band I record on my laptop. It ends up okay, but I need some equipment, definatly new microphones, stands and something to increase volume on the recording.
Can someone help me out by choosing some products (hopefully with a URL for Info or Buying) that would help me out to start recording on my laptop and then into concerts later on. I would hope there high quality, but at a reasonable price. I know a little information, but definatly not as much as you noids! haha
So please tapers, help me out!
Thanks

First thing to consider is - do you need a battery powered rig - or will you always have AC power...?
You can get a nice 6 to 10 channel mixer w/phantom for 100 bucks...if you know you can get AC...
-
yeah ill have ac power.. it seems like with just the mic plugged in, its real quiet and its hard to pick up cuz I have a somewhat shitty mic, also the mic in I think is like 1/8th inch.... mixer sounds interesting.. and thanks, I know my budget is short but im trying to start small..

Mics
akg c1000 check ebay. Around $200
Superlux h8 Around $150
Pre Options
You could get a UA5 from ebay, and digimod it $200
in your budget you might find a used vxpocket 2 by digigram
http://www.oade.com/digital_recorders/Digital_Converters/Maudio_410.html
Beyond your budget, but def meet your needs.

If you go with a laptop, you can get a ua-5, doesn't even have to be digimodded. can do mics and sbd matrixes as well. $175 or so
Then a pair of superlux mics for about $135
bout your budget, ebay rules for these things.
that plus your laptop is a decent starting rig.
