Title: Possible Gear Bags at Wal-Mart
Post by: hexyjones on March 18, 2005, 03:51:59 PM
Go over to the Fishing tackle section - they have a "soft" tackle boxes that would make great gear bags.

I bought the blue Quantum bag...but they had a few models and sizes that would be great for tapers....

Yup.  I've used the Plano 3355 (http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family/index.jsp?doVSearch=no&categoryId=1883178&page=3&pageBucket=0&doVSearch=no) for stealthing Mics > V3 (w/SLA) > recorder.  Recorder on one side.  V3's SLA on the other.  V3 in the center compartment.  Hitch it up high around my lower back and in you go.  Won't get you past a patdown, but that's what my Lemosax is for.  :)

Cool lead Brian...

I'm heading into a couple of shows where I can probably get a back pack in with my gear stuffed on the bottom.  What I am looking for is ideas for mounting full-bodied mics without a stand or clamp.

Probably not the best sound, except when in a balcony, but I was thinking of setting my Backpack in the Aisle adjacent to my seat and mounting the bodies of my mics on top of the bag with velco straps.

Anyone else rig up something similar for low profile/semi-stealth type shows??

Here's a few pics of the bag I bought - and one of my hulking carry-in!  :o

I like the deep top compartment...

Do you happen to have any photos of the interior while empty?  Yeah, I know, get off my lazy butt and look at one at Ballz-Mart..   ;)  Thanks for the find! Looks promising.
