Title: PDA ?
Post by: momule on March 25, 2005, 12:22:24 PM
Seeing how the PDA takes an expansion pack
Could one get a Double expansion pack to go to the PCMCIA External HD and in from a PCMCIA > USB/1394 ?

My goal is to try to Run
 480>UA-5 via Usb @24/48 >gidluck live24/96>Ipaq 3850>PCMCIA "storage brick" HD
(without having to Deal with Len ) seeing how it seems his customer service is not so good..
I guess I got lucky that Most of the first taper Gear I bought was through Dave @ micsupply . and got A+++ service and support.

Im thinking as long as you had a PCMCIA that takes the USB in from the UA-5 and it could go staright back out the PCMCIA bus to the external drive . I assume the Drive & Ipaq are fast enough to keep up with 24/48 ?  Am I just dreaming or would this work? I cant find a way to get two PCMCIA devices to and from the Ipaq

TIA for any help
Nick

I'd email Gorgon Gidluck with this question.  He has a very good grasp of how these things work and usually responds to email quickly.

I think you'd need a PDA specific driver (PocketPC?) for the UA5 (or other USB device).  I don't think one exists.

Good point on the driver I had spaced that ..
I might email Gordon after doing some more "googling" and ask him if he knows of a expansion pack or some other way to maybe do this without the PDaudio Cf card.
really just didnt want to have to deal with the folks at coresound . with all the recent posts and all.

Im really looking forward to trying this approach as I cant afford the 722. and lappy is just to bulky for me..
+T's to both of ya for your help.

Your answer is probably up there already.
