Title: Flac Encoding
Post by: John R on March 29, 2005, 10:39:23 AM
i'm getting a message:  warning: shipping unknown sub chunk 'list'
and then 'cue'

what does this mean?  do i need to do a fix?  how?

LIST and CUE are subchunks used in wave files. They're basically metadata, and not audio, so the FLAC algorithm doesn't know what to do with them. To avoid issues, it just skips them and only encodes audio data.

Among other things, you could get this from saving a wave with markers in it.

No, it's not. However, it means that if you save a wave with markers, FLAC it, then decode it, you won't have the markers in the file.
