So I got my schoeps today, trey you rule ;D, I got the nos and din bars. You don't have to push the active cable inside the kwonbar right? It just sits in the depression on the outside. Or do you have to apply force and stuff it in deeper? I don't want to do anything nasty to these babies

I slide my cables through / inside - doesn't require much umph to do so on mine. I'd say as long as the caps are locked in securely, do whatever makes you comfortable.

the build of the active cable looks something like this:

gets fatter
I can get the fatter balck wire no problem, but there is resistance when I start putting in the grey part. I don't want to scratch up my active cables.

Eventually you are going to scratch up that gray piece where the cable terminates. It's just part of it, but the caps are supposed to snap all the way in. Fwiw, my DIN bar from kwon is looser than my ortf bar from Schoeps. The Schoeps bar is really tight.

Now which active cable do you put on the shock. Ie do you put the left cable on the front and the right on the back or vise versa

you put the kwon bar through the shockmount

I shoud rephase. There is a little knob that you push up on the a20, and its designed to hold your cables. I was just wondering if you guys had a preference.

With the neumann actives, I put both cables together and then use just enough pressure to hold the cables without crushing them. Otherwise the cables are too thin to be held in place by that little pin.
I love my NOS bar.

Sorry to come into this thread late....looks like everything has been covered.
To recap...
There will be resistance on the caps as you push them in. All bars are shipped with a set resistance. If you are finding yourself using an "extreme" amount of force then the spacing of the fingers have been set wrong and we will gladly reset them for you if you send them back to me. This applies to the bars made to hold the schoeps actives.
Running the actives for over 5 years, I have never had the grey finish come off the metal assembly. It will start to show wear but the fusion between the matte gray paint and the metal is pretty resilient.
Lil' Kim is right on his procedure. The Nuemann cable is considerable thinner than the Schoeps cable and on the A20(S) you need to bundle them together. On the Schoeps cable, I find it easier to route the cable through the A20(S) cable clamp *before* you insert the cap into the kwonbar.
Now get out and tape!
