Hey y'all,
I'm lovin' my C4 mics...but as my obsession grows, I find myself pondering a pair of AKG's. I see AKG 300's on ebay, I also see AKG 3000's on ebay. The 300's are skinny & long, whereas the 3000's seem to have a fatter tip. What's the difference? ??? Which one is better for recording live shows? I'm running C4>Dmod UA5>JB3 now, and I'm thinkin' about an upgrade. What mics would y'all recommend? Also, any suggestions on the upgrade for my UA5 from the OADE BROS. Either Pmod, Wmod or Tmod.
Any suggestions would be great!
Also...I see alot of posts about Bass Roll off. What does that mean? In what situation would I want bass roll off & what settings would I want to use? ???
;D

akg 300's are small diaphram, and the 3000's are large diaphram.
i would say the 300 series would be better for shows. but i do know at least one person who uses the 3000's with nice results
the mod to the ua5 depends on what mics you choose mostly. choose the mics first i would reccomend
whats your budget for mics?

I found a pair of AKG C 1000 S microphones on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41464&item=7313238653&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
would those be good for taping shows?
Again...all this 100 or 1,000 or 300 or 3,000 how the heck do I figure out which one would work best?
I don't really understand all the technical specs & stuff.
