...at festivals. I usually have an RV, but it is just me and my truck this time. Extra Eco-Charge sla's seems like an expensive option.

just posted on the fest forum, but i use a 300w inverter, and plug a power bar into it, that way i can charge 2 batteries at the same time. you know how long your batteries last, so just a matter of working out a schedulke between music, and charging. i have an extra set of batteries so one charges while one is in use, which is ideal for fests, but it can be done. dont forget to start your car every hour or so ;). I built myself 2 12AH 6V's for less than $50! Go build your own bat's and I can bet you save a ton of cash. 1 of those bats will power V2 and modSBM-1 for at least 8 hrs of music. I also have to 7.2 AH ecocharge that I use w/ my deck.

I'm lookin into a 8.4v 3Ah NiMH batteries for my TCD-D3 (9v). Those should put out at the MOST 9.2v slam packed with juice.
Haven't gotten anything done with my JB3 yet. But for 5v I would either run a 4.5 or something bigger with a voltage regulator, most likely a lead acid. NiCD and NiMH have 'memory' that can be quickly ruined if you don't run those batts all the way dry.
but 12v you can pretty much do anything...

the new nimh packs do not have a memory
i dought you would want to run a 9v device on a 8.4v battery, check you wall wart and see what exactly it puts out, not what it says, what it actually puts out, and get a 9.6v packs and you would be fine most likely. its better to have that extra juice and step it down, then to not have it at all

i run a 12 v 12ah powersonic sla for my deck, i calculated like 18 hrs from it. its a big brick, pretty hefty, but it works well, and lasts forever. and i run 2-9.6v 3000mah and they are small and light, and i should get like 8 hrs on a full charge, but i'll only count on it lasting 6.
but for festivals, i'm gonna get another 12ah sla, at least, and a few more 9.6 3000's so i can run all day off 3 maybe 4 batt's, then have extra's for the next day, and to rotate which is chargin, between what i'm using.
i also might look into a small generator, cause on like a gallon of gas some will last like hours upon hours. i've seen them for reasonable prices, like 200, and i'd use it for camping any other time of year as well, but would be damn nice to have power at a festival, everyone would wanna bum off of us.. oh well good luck. peace.
