First I am totally new at this and looking to complete my first set up. Can someone point me to a website that sells decent mic stands? I have looked all over this site and Google and can't seem to come up with any thing. I'm looking to spend about $50 to $100 and 6ft or higher. Thanks in advance.

You are actually looking for light stands. eBay is a good spot, or bhphotovideo.com is a good place as well. eBay will get you well below your $50 marc. I got an 8 foot stand for about $12 shipped.

Thanks you for pointing out that they are light stands. Another question which one do you guys think I should get http://www.helixphoto.com/Studio+lighting/bogen/LightStands.html ? Once again thanks in advance.

Any time. The Archive has a wealth of knowledge, just gotta seek it out!
Another question which one do you guys think I should get http://www.helixphoto.com/Studio+lighting/bogen/LightStands.html ?
How high would you like to run your mics?
What size footprint do you want or need?
How small would you like it to fold up?
Do you need an uber-stable, beefy stand for big-ass large diaphragm mics, or will a fairly lightweight, compact stand suffice?
Answer those questions, check out the specs, and I suspect you'll find one that will work for what you want. And before you ask (ahem!), check the previously referenced Archive mic stand thread for adapters you likely will need to convert the stand tip to the proper thread for aattaching a mic mount.

i got this one on ebay for about 40.00 bucks shipped. the footprint can be adjusted fairly small and i like that it is air cushioned. so far i have no complaints for the $$

I like the Bogen 3373, but it fits my needs. It is great for on stage and low profile (read FOB) taping when you don't want to go higher than 6 or 7 feet. If the legs are slightly shortened it has a very compact footprint. Even if you don't it is still a nice, lightweight, compact stand.
I think that they can be had for about $50ish

b&h photo, impact air cushioned, pick your size... under $50...
