thats cool that they're working together.  but what does that mean if sony is backing down from their propriety bs - i wonder if they're hurting?

The funny thing is i read elsewhere that whatever format adult movie makers use that's the format that ultimately wins out...and they chose Blu-Ray as they chose VHS back in the 80's.  Damnit, wish i could find the news article.

Anyway, doesn't Blu-Ray have more features (and stores more data) than a HD-DVD?  Just wondering.  ???

I recently read or saw something saying that Sony has indeed sufferd lately.  The story pointed out Sony's penchant for proprietary BS and their complacency for not more actively pursuing the mp3 market.  They also pointed to China's increased role in the elctronics  industry as well.

i know that microsoft was backing HD-DVD for its next gen xbox games at least.  granted the ps3 would be going with blu-ray.

B i read that article too, i think it was on here in taperchat at one time.

Thanks for the link.  It doesn't sound like they're very close to a collaborative solution, but the fact they are talking is very good.
