Title: smartftp settings?
Post by: Tim on April 22, 2005, 11:36:15 PM
I just switched computers and am having trouble with smartftp. It's been years since I have set this program up and am clearly missing something :P

when I go to download a show via an ftp server the program is grabbing one file (in this case 1 track) at a time and then resetting itself. The program stays connected to the server but after each track downloads I need to go in and reselect the folder I am downloading. At that point it offers me the option of overriding, keeping the file, or starting over with the files that I have previously downloaded.

what am I missing? I'm sure it's some simple option that I haven't selected but damned if I can figure it out :P

thanks....

go into settings, see if 'keep alive' is enabled at 50 sec intervals.  the default time out is 300 secs, fyi

I always download using Download>Global Queue.

Tim,

It may be a firewall issue or try toggling passive vs. non-passive transfers.

on etree there is still a help thing on how to set it up.  the new version of smart ftp looks a little different than the screen shots on etree but the settings are all the same.
