Title: Question about cleaning up chatter
Post by: Embalmedlenin on April 23, 2005, 07:24:56 AM
Is there a way to clean up chatter from a recording. Its Light chatter but noticible sort of like a buzz in the background. Can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial or give me any hints on how to clean it up. I have cooledit pro 2.0 but I can get other programs if nessasary. Any help or tips would be appreciated.
Thanks
David

I don't believe it can be done.  The crowd chatter shares a frequency range with the music, and to reduce the chatter would negatively impact the music.  Some shows, you're just gonna have the buzz of the crowd since most musical performances are such a social event for most people.

Sometimes chatter is just the reality of the situation.  The only way to really avoid it for sure is to tape on stage or pull a stack tape.  Since I would probably never stack tape because it removes room ambience from the recording....not alot of options.  Better luck next time.
